This blog is very exciting to me, as it is the culmination of 15+ years of really studying & immersing myself in film. The idea for this particular project was spawned by a post that somebody made on one of those social networking sites, where he was posed the question, "What are your favorite 300 movies?" He expected the task to be any easy one, but after pondering the question for weeks his list was finally cemented. Taking that idea, I set out to make my own list. I went into the project with the idea that I would knock it out in a couple of days, but days stretched into over 2 months before I could finally lay it to rest. Or so I thought...I think in the end that I made the right choices for me personally, some with my heart & some with my head. There are a variety of qualities of film, from 5 star masterpieces to grade Z schlock that I'm almost embarrassed to admit I enjoy. All of the flicks had a profound effect on me in some way, & most still stay with me to this day. There are films from many generations past all the way until mid-to-late 2008 (when the list was originally put together). I will be posting sporadically, sometimes 1 at a time, sometimes en masse, all in no particular order. Oh, & I'll also add a few more recent addendum films to the list from time to time (I've got my eye on you, Watchmen). It is with great pleasure that I bring to you... The Top 300 Project!
